Liz Leo was the graphic designer for the Magic R&D department between May 2014 and July 2016. She connected game design, art, and story into the graphic assets that framed the game of Magic: the Gathering, created print and digital products through cross department collaboration and saw card assets through from concept, to print test, to final review.

  • Conceptualized and designed card frames and expansion symbols for Magic sets spanning from “Magic Origins” to “Amonkhet”

  • Created the evergreen “Colorless Mana” Symbol.

  • Participated in world building for “Avishkar” and “Amonkhet”, fictional planes in the expansive Magic Universe

None of the work below was done in a vacuum. While Liz Leo was the key graphic designer, credits must go to the art director Jeremy Jarvis, the game designers, and the amazing Magic: the Gathering artists whose work is pictured here.
